Danny Malamed was Grandpa Bill's best friend throughout their entire lives. Molly Abel was another life-long friend.  Bill and Danny's best story was that they had been sent to the bread store to buy a loaf of bread.  In those days it was baked fresh and then put through a slicing machine. They walked down two sides of the street tossing the loaf back and forth like a football.  The wrapping came off of the loaf and all of the slices went flying across the street. Grandpa Bill caught them all as they came at him.  This is a 1937 picture.

 Ribsie, Danny, Bill and Elaine- and take a look at that car. Ribsie was engaged to someone before Danny. He died suddenly before their wedding. When Ribs and Dan got married, a group of friends all climbed into one of their Jalopy's and went along for the ride. Some were in the trunk, some were hanging onto the side on the running boards and many were crammed inside the car.
